The "Chick" McGinty Award for Catechetical Leadership
Congratulations to Mariyam Francis, Parish Catechetical Leader,
Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony Parish!
2026 Recipient of the Rosemarie "Chick" McGinty Award for Excellence in Catechetical Leadership Mariyam has served the Diocese of Trenton as a professional and devoted catechetical leader for the past 21 years. She is a clear example of how a professional catechetical leader displays excellence to the parish community and the field of Catechetics. Through navigating sacramental preparation, finding creative ways to meet the needs of children, encouraging and supporting her catechists, her goal of ensuring that every family feels welcomed, valued, and accompanied on their journey of faith is evident. In addition, her role on the TRED Board is essential to our mission and helps other catechetical leaders to share ideas and grow their own programs.
